You are probably 100% correct about the nudity being kept in if it were an actress. A shame because Tom seems pretty laid back and would probably have delivered.
I also feel like, generally speaking, that they shoot nude sex scenes differently for males. Most of the time, they go with a simple side view, intercut with close ups. Not really showing much of anything.

Oh, for sure. Male nude scenes are often filmed in weird angles to avoid to show too much.
